Maintaining a clothes washer
Detergent residue builds up in your washer and prevents it from doing its best. At the start of each month run your machine without laundry and a cup of distilled vinegar to clean out the residue.
My interest in tools, repairing, maintaining cars and all manner of items found around a typical midwest home started as a child helping my dad. Dad was a depression era adult and out of necessity had to learn how to fix things that were broken, make needed improvements and what tools to use and how to use them.
This knowledge has been passed on to me and over the years I have expanded it to include other areas such as lawn care, landscaping, wood working and refinishing, interior painting, wood deck and fence restoration and preservation, concrete cleaning and sealing.
